Mydoom Virus is on the move again.

The Anti-Virus software vendors have just released definitions for Mydoom.M and Mydoom.O because this virus is on the move again.  The Mydoom virus spreads by e-mail and is considered a "3" threat on the Symantec scale of 1-5.

You're probably savvy enough to only open e-mail from people you know or e-mails you are expecting, but Mydoom may also arrive with a subject line that looks like an error in e-mail functionality.  Our server will not send you an error message for returned mail that includes an attached file with any of the extensions listed below.  If you are ever in doubt as to an e-mail message's authenticity, delete it.

Subject lines for Mydoom virus:

  • hello
  • error
  • status
  • test
  • report
  • delivery failed
  • Message could not be delivered
  • Mail System Error - Returned Mail
  • Delivery reports about your e-mail
